About Surgery

Once you and Dr. Poulos arrive at a definitive surgical plan, Barbara Ann will present you with a Proposal outlining the surgeon's, anesthesiologist's, and hospital's fees. In the case of office procedures, the proposal will include surgeons's and facility fees.

A 10% deposit is required to book any cosmetic surgery. The remaining balance is paid two weeks' prior to surgery. Dr. Poulos accepts cash, bank check, VISA, MasterCard or AmericanExpress credit cards, or financing through Care Credit. Please check with the hospital to learn when to pay your hospital and anesthesia fees, and what forms of payment are accepted for those fees.

All patients require a Pre-Operative appointment with Dr. Poulos as well as a Pre-Admission Testing appointment at the hospital of their choice. The Pre-Operative appointment is a lengthy and thorough appointment: you'll read and sign numerous consents, Dr. Poulos will examine you, you'll finalize your surgery decision, and you'll learn what to expect at and after surgery. Other testing and physical examinations may be necessary to gain surgical clearance for your particular case.

Please prepare yourself and your home for your post-operative recovery. Pick up your medications and any necessities ahead of time. Your job, post-op, is to relax and recover. You will need a reliable and responsible friend or relative to bring you to and from surgery, stay with you for at least the first 24 hours following surgery, and bring you to and from your first Post-Operative appointment with Dr. Poulos (typically 24 to 72 hours after surgery).
