Deep Chemical Peels

A deep chemical peel is a surgical procedure to resurface scarred, wrinkled, or discolored skin. The peel utilizes a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers. Dr. Poulos selects the appropriate peeling agent and depth of peel to achieve the desired results. Depending on the depth of peel, patients can expect anywhere from a 2-day to 6-week recovery time. Skin may look slightly sunburned with a mild peel, or may crust with a moderate to deep peel.

A chemical peel is one of the least invasive and most affordable plastic surgery procedures. Primarily utilized on the face, chemical peels can also be used to improve skin texture on the neck, chest, and hands.

A chemical peel performed by a physician in a controlled, surgical setting is a very different experience than the "chemical peels" offered by Spas.
