The Thermage®procedure is an advanced way of tightening skin that uses a unique form of radiofrequency energy to allow Dr. Poulos to tighten loose or sagging skin, producing a kind of “lift” without an incision or recovery time.
With the gentle touch of the device tip, the surface of the skin is cooled, while the deeper tissue, is altered by radiofrequency heating. This not only tightens deeper skin tissue, but jumpstarts new collagen production, which occurs over a period of time. While not a substitute for a surgical facelift, the Thermage procedure can be used on patients with a moderate amount of sagging skin and wrinkles.
The Thermage procedure is sometimes referred to as a mini-face lift, ThermaLift or DermalLift by physicians who have observed that this non-surgical procedure lifts and tightens tissue, similar to a facelift without the surgery.
Thermage can be pre-operatively combined with almost any surgery of the face or neck, including minimally-invasive therapies such as facial fillers or Botox. Best results are seen in a series of treatments. What makes the Thermage treatment different from other medical spas is the expertise of the medical aesthetician providing the service. Each year, our aestheticians receive three full days’ of advanced laser training from the premiere aesthetic laser expert in the nation. Their review includes an overview of laser physics, Fitzpatrick skin typing, and tissue interaction. As always, Dr. Poulos is on-site and available to assess any patient’s specific concerns or candidacy for treatment.
