During your consultation with Dr. Poulos, she will discuss all of your aesthetic goals and create the right treatment plan for you.

What to expect from your Radiesse treatment

Radiesse, like other injectable treatments, is non-invasive and easy, which means you can be in and out of our office in a relatively short amount of time. First, a local anesthetic will be applied to the treatment areas and, when ready, Dr. Poulos will inject you with Radiesse. The procedure could take up to 15 minutes, depending on how many areas you wish to treat. Since no recovery or downtime is needed, you will likely be able to go home after receiving the injections. You will begin to see an improvement in your skin immediately after your treatment. However, the final results will take about a week to settle in.

Caring for your skin after your Radiesse injections

How well you care for your skin after receiving your Radiesse injections is crucial for its longevity, so be sure to follow all the proper aftercare tips:

  • Avoid massaging or moving the treated areas for 24 hours.
  • Do not apply makeup to the treated areas for 24 hours.
  • Try to avoid any excessive exposure to the sun or heat for 24 hours.
  • Use a cold compress to help reduce swelling after treatment.
  • Avoid strenuous activities for the first 24 hours after treatment.
  • Do not drink alcohol for the first 24 hours after treatment.

After your treatment, it is normal to notice some mild swelling, redness, tenderness, an itching sensation, or bruising in the treated area, but this should all dissipate within the first few days.

Radiesse FAQ

How long does Radiesse last?

Radiesse is a long-lasting dermal filler that can last anywhere from 12 to 18 months, which means you will need fewer repeat treatments. While some only need maintenance shots every two years, others might require small touch-ups in between their major treatments to maintain consistent results.

Is Radiesse safe?

Radiesse has undergone years of clinical studies. It is considered safe, and it is FDA-approved to address facial lines and wrinkles. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Radiesse, you should not receive this treatment. It is also not recommended for people with bleeding disorders or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Who is an ideal candidate for Radiesse?

Although the typical candidate for Radiesse is someone between the age of 30 and 60, it does not mean those who are in their 20s should not receive this treatment. If you want to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines or restore volume in your face, you may be a good candidate for Radiesse.
