What to expect with your Sculptra treatment

During your Sculptra treatment, a local or topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment areas to minimize any discomfort you may feel while receiving your injections. Sculptra will then be injected in small amounts into the treated areas and, afterward, these areas will be massaged to ensure the product is evenly distributed.

The whole procedure should take between half an hour to 45 minutes, depending on your needs. Most clients will need two treatments to achieve the optimal results in skin-firming and renewal with Sculptra. Nothing looks more natural than skin that is naturally rejuvenated, many other facial fillers, the results can last up to two years.

What is the recovery time?

After your Sculptra treatment, you should be able to go about your day. However, you may experience some redness, tenderness, pin prick marks, and swelling in the treated areas, which should all dissipate after a few days.

Additionally, these are some aftercare instructions you should follow to assist with recovery:

  • Do not wear makeup for the first 24 hours after your treatment.
  • For two days after your treatment, you should avoid exposure to the sun, extreme
  • temperatures, and alcohol since these could all slow down the healing process.
  • Do not take aspirin for the first 48 hours after your treatment.
  • If you notice any bumps that remain four to six weeks after your treatment, contact our office.

Sculptra FAQ

Why do I have to massage after my Sculptra treatment?

To ensure Sculptra is distributed in the tissue, so that your collagen production does not clump, massaging is a crucial part of its aftercare. Be sure to massage five times a day for five minutes over the next five days.

Are there any side effects to Sculptra?

The most common side effect of Sculptra is minor bruising. Generally, these only last a few days, but it is possible for them to last a week or more. Other common side effects include itching, discomfort, and swelling.

What areas can Sculptra treat?

Sculptra can be used on essentially every part of the face, including the cheekbones, nose, chin, cheeks, mouth, and under the eyes. Its versatility is part of what sets Sculptra apart from other fillers that have more limited usage.

What is poly-L-lactic acid?

Poly-L-lactic acid is slower acting and works over time, triggering collagen production in the body and restoring plumpness to the skin. This ingredient is what restores radiance to your skin when you have a Sculptra treatment.
