What is the treatment experience with RHA fillers?

RHA filler treatments can be performed within 15 to 25 minutes. The injections you receive have lidocaine, which is an anesthetic medicine, so the treated areas may feel numb for a few hours after your appointment. To ensure the product is evenly dispersed, Dr. Poulos may massage your face.

Given its non-invasive nature, there is no downtime, which means you can essentially resume your day after you leave our office. Although the results of your RHA fillers depend on a variety of factors, such as lifestyle and age, most are able to enjoy their results for 9 to 18 months. It is recommended that you consider a touch-up session in two to four weeks.

What is the recovery time after treatment with RHA fillers?

After your RHA filler in Northborough, there are some things you should do and some things you should avoid so you have the best possible results:

  • Do not touch the treated areas for the first six hours
  • If you experience any swelling, use a cold compress on the treated area for no more than 10 minutes every hour
  • Do not drink alcohol for the first 24 hours
  • Avoid engaging in strenuous activities for the first couple of days after your treatment
  • Do not expose yourself to excessive heat or sun until all swelling and redness dissipate
  • If you experience pain or discomfort, you can take Tylenol
  • Avoid massaging or squeezing the treated areas for several hours after you receive your injections

RHA fillers FAQ

Who is a candidate for RHA fillers?

Adults over the age of 22 who have moderate or severe wrinkles, folds, facial lines, or experienced a loss of volume in their face may be candidates for RHA fillers. If you are pregnant, have a bleeding disorder, or are allergic to any of its ingredients, you should not have this treatment.

When will I see the final results?

RHA fillers start to work almost as soon as they are injected. That said, it will take about two to three days before the product settles, when you enjoy the smoothing effect of the treatment for many months.

Are RHA fillers painful?

You might feel a slight pinch when you receive your RHA filler injections, but it should not hurt, especially given that the formula contains lidocaine. A numbing cream may also be applied to the treated areas to further reduce any discomfort.
