What is hand rejuvenation?

Second only to the face, our hands receive a daily onslaught of damaging sun exposure, plus drying soaps, antibacterial hand gels, and drying air-conditioned or heated environments.

Fortunately, there are a variety of therapies available to help correct the appearance of the hands. Sunspots and pigmentation issues can be well treated with medical skincare, peels and aesthetic laser therapy. Loss of plumpness can be combated by collagen-building aesthetic laser therapy and dermal fillers.

A variety of complementary therapies are most effective in complete hand rejuvenation, most notably the SkinTyte laser and the ZO or Environ skincare regimen.

Most likely, Dr. Poulos will restore plumpness to your hands with an artful, precise injection of a dermal filler. She will recommend visiting with one of our medical aestheticians, who will determine the appropriate spa treatment to correct age spots and loss of elasticity in your skin of your hands as well.

What are the benefits of hand rejuvenation?

  • Softer, more inviting hand appearance
  • More confidence in social and professional settings
  • Reduction in prominent veins, tendons and bones
  • Plumper, fuller, more youthful-looking skin
  • Tighter, firmer hands
  • Safe, non-invasive and effective treatment
  • Can help restore collagen and elastin levels

Who makes a good candidate for the procedure?

Anyone who is frustrated by aging hands will find relief with dermal fillers and laser therapies designed to rejuvenate your appearance from head to toe. Dr. Poulos will meet with you in private at her Worcester offices to determine exactly the best treatment modality for restoring your hands to a more youthful, attractive look.

Clients should have positive, realistic expectations for their results, and be in good general health, both mentally and physically.

What will my recovery entail?

There is no recovery time necessary for most hand rejuvenation procedures. Injectable treatment results are visible immediately; collagen-boosting laser therapies and improvements in skin texture may require a series of visits. You will be able to return immediately to your regular activities, whether it is work, school or play. Many clients come in over their lunch break to receive restorative treatments for both the face and body.
