What is Microneedling?

Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. A device with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin that triggers the body’s wound-healing response. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

Microneedling is a safe, chemical-free treatment to trigger new collagen. When combined with radio frequency, it becomes the newest revolution in contouring and tightening for the face, neck, and body.

Clinical studies have shown that serum absorption is dramatically increased when applied with microneedling. The treatment leaves the entire epidermal barrier fully intact; micro-channels that are created will seal within hours of application. New collagen structures will form within the lower layers of the skin. Patients may resume their normal schedules quickly. Skin is left resilient and available for additional treatments. Since the skin can recuperate faster after a microneedling treatment, often hours after treatment, the patient may see noticeable results sooner!

Who Makes A Good Candidate For The Procedure?

Those Worcester patients struggling with acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin, enlarged pores or puffiness and circles beneath the eyes can all benefit from microneedling. There is no risk of adverse allergic reactions with this treatment.

What Will Recovery Entail?

The downtime for microneedling is brief and manageable. Your skin may be slightly red, resembling a sunburn, but this will improve within a few days as you begin to heal. Take care to avoid direct sunlight, as the damaging rays of the sun can threaten your results.
