What is laser acne treatment?

Also known as “Microlaser peel,” laser skin resurfacing usually takes less than 1 hour (sometimes just a few minutes) depending on the size of the area being treated. The procedure uses an erbium laser beam, which vaporizes the upper layers of damaged skin at controlled levels of penetration. The laser can be used in two different ways to approach these concerns.

The Sciton Profractional, and the Microlaser peel can smooth acne scars and treat uneven skin tone associated with acne breakouts. The treatment will be tailored to treat your specific condition. The amount of time that you can take to recover will reflect the extent of your laser acne treatment.

You may find that a series of less aggressive laser treatments is the best approach, rather than a single, more powerful treatment. Our laser therapies are well tolerated with topical local anesthetics and mild pain medication. The light energy emitted by the device triggers natural skin regeneration, plumping acne-damaged skin from beneath, smoothing the appearance of uneven, discolored skin.
