In just one SmartSkin CO2 laser resurfacing treatment, you can have a more youthful-looking appearance, with improved tone and texture of your skin. This treatment allows you to achieve long-lasting results without the pain or side effects associated with a more invasive surgery. Best of all, you will still look like you—only better.

How does SmartSkin CO2 laser resurfacing work?

This fractional CO2 (carbon dioxide) technology uses a precise laser that creates tiny channels in the skin, which allows new cells and collagen to grow into. The laser treats the skin one tiny area at a time for optimal results. This clinically effective treatment achieves dramatic improvements for the skin, making aged skin appear much younger and healthier, and addressing age spots, redness, large pores, wrinkles, and overall rejuvenation.

What makes it different?

Unlike traditional CO2 lasers, the SmartSkin laser treats the skin little by little, making it less abrasive than previous treatments. It’s able to address areas of concern with a minimal amount of bleeding or scabbing.

Another element that sets the SmartSkin Co2 laser apart from its earlier counterparts is that treatments with it are very customizable. We can choose the exact level of power to target the unique issues of your skin, tailor-making a treatment plan just for you.

Treatment

A SmartSkin CO2 laser resurfacing procedure is performed in office, using numbing cream or a local anesthetic, depending on the level of treatment you’ll be receiving. You may be given goggles to protect your eyes. The SmartSkin laser is then passed over the areas that are being treated. How many times the laser will need to go over the skin will be determined by how severe the problems are, as well as how thick the skin is. Treatments typically take about half an hour, and immediately following the procedure, your body’s natural healing process will kick in, triggering the production of new cells and collagen. This new collagen process will continue for several months.

Recovery

After treatment, your skin may feel warm and look as though you have a sunburn. Some patients also experience some swelling for a few days. After about a week, you will see that your skin looks much healthier and even. You will be able to continue your normal active lifestyle in about five days.

We will also give you step-by-step instructions for home care during recovery.

Some patients require multiple treatments to get the best results for their specific issues. During your consultation, we will determine how many treatments you will need.

What results can I expect?

Patients typically see maximum improvement in about three months. You will have improvement in both skin tone and texture, resulting in a younger-looking appearance. Treatment plans can be adjusted to fit everyone’s lifestyle, and during your consultation, we will discuss your areas of concern and aesthetic goals, as well as your desired downtime for recovery.
