Your diet has a huge effect on your body, so it is important that you are eating the right foods to maintain your health. Everything in your body is effected by your diet and yes, this includes your skin! It is easy for us to forget about our skin in regards to our diet, especially if we are moisturizing properly. We assume moisturizing is enough, but your diet plays a huge part in your complexion!

Here are 5 essential foods that you should be adding your daily diet:

Green tea: Green tea is not only a soothing beverage, it also has a huge amount of polyphenols in it. Polyphenols are micronutrients that are said to help prevent degenerative disease. We recommend having 4 cups of Green tea a day.

Tomatoes: Studies show that tomatoes are rich in lycopene—which is said to help prevent sunburn. Tomatoes have a high level of carotenoids in them as well. Carotenoids are said to help slow down cellular damage from free radicals such as the UV rays.

Salmon: Don’t leave fish out of your diet! Fatty fish like salmon have high levels of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids which help to boost your skins elasticity. This means this will help reduce the lines that form in your skin.

Eggs: What is breakfast without eggs? They are a delicious treat, but their health benefits can’t be ignored. Eggs are almost pure protein and contain some biotin, which is an essential vitamin that is said to help protect your skin from drying out.

Walnuts: Looking for a good snack? Well put down those potato chips and pick up some walnuts! These delicious crunchy snacks have a comparable amount of omega-3 fatty acids in them to salmon. This helps to maintain smoother and more youthful looking skin.
