Although Dr. Poulos takes measures to speed the healing process, no surgical procedure is without downtime.
At your Pre-Operative appointment, and again on the day of surgery, Dr. Poulos will provide you with specific instructions to assist in your recovery. Taking a sufficient amount of time to recover is very important to your outcome. Recovery commonly involves time off from work, household tasks, driving, exercise or anything of a vigorous nature. The level of restriction is procedure specific and will be discussed at your consultation.
Your Recovery
Your first Post-Operative appointment with Dr. Poulos or her clinical team is typically 24 to 72 hours after surgery. Ensuing appointments are scheduled at regular intervals through the weeks and months following your surgery. The early stages of healing will take place in the first several weeks. We will guide you on what to expect as time progresses.
